California Youth Think Tank

CYTT is a nationally recognized youth leadership training program that selects and brings together bright and motivated students from diverse backgrounds and communities throughout California, trains and inspires them to become future leaders, and prepares them for success in college and beyond.  Students from over 250 schools have participated in this ‘life-changing’ educational experience.  100% of CYTT alums have been accepted at over 70 U.S. colleges and universities to date.

CYTT College Residence Program (Grades 9-12)

Students live in a college dorm on the campus of the University of Southern Calif. in Los Angeles during their training.  They attend daily classes taught by a dedicated team of educators, college mentors, and business professionals.  They research and debate important issues, participate in lively panel discussions & field trips, compete in challenging academic contests, and work with other dynamic youth leaders on special real-world projects. 

CYTT 2015 applications will be available online beginning in January 2015

CYTT Day Camp (Grades 7-8)

Students attend daily classes on the USC campus in Los Angeles.  They learn how to research and debate important issues, participate in panel discussions & field trips, compete in challenging academic contests, and work with their peers on special real-world projects.  

CYTT 2015 Day Camp applications will be available online beginning in January 2015

leadership, effective communication (verbal & written), critical thinking, organization, problem solving, human relations, self confidence, life purpose

Selection Process

Student participants are selected based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership potential, personal character, teacher recommendations, and a personal interview
