California Youth Think Tank

CYTT is a nationally recognized youth leadership training program that selects bright and motivated students from diverse backgrounds and communities, trains and inspires them to become future leaders, and prepares them for success in college, business, and life.  Students from over 250 schools have participated in this phenomenal, “life-changing” experience.  Selected high school students will live in a college dorm on the campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles during their training.  Middle school ‘Day Campers’ will participate daily on the USC campus from 9am to 5pm. 


Knowledge & skills gained: leadership, scholarship, effective communication (oral & written), critical thinking, college readiness, research, organization, teamwork, problem solving, networking, human relations


Program Facts

  1. Students from over 260 schools have participated in the CYTT program

  2. 94% of participants improved their academic performance in school and on Standardized Tests

  3. CYTT alums have been accepted at over 70 U. S. colleges and universities

** No fee deposit required for students in Free & Reduced Lunch program.  Applicants must submit a school letter verifying Title I participation

Deposit Refund

$100 fee deposit will be refunded for any applicant not selected to participate in the program


Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available for Title I: Free & Reduced Lunch program participants.  Amount of aid granted is limited to available program funding support we receive each year.  Parents and/or participant sponsors will be required to pay any fee balance due for financial aid recipients.
